A step forward in neutrino oscillations
Posted by David Zaslavsky on — CommentsI wrote this two weeks ago and somehow completely forgot to post it, so it’s old news by now, but still potentially interesting: the T2K neutrino-detection experiment, operating in Japan, announced results that directly confirm muon-electron neutrino oscillation for the first time. For more information, check out a blog post (very well written, by the way) by one of the scientists working on the T2K experiment, or the paper.
